NAVIGATING THE INTRICACIES OF PSYCHOTIC DISORDERS

Understanding psychotic disorders is essential for dispelling societal misconceptions that these conditions are synonymous with violence or incapacity, and for fostering a more compassionate approach to mental health.  The course will provide learners with an overview of these conditions, as well as strategies, techniques, and support efforts to work with individuals living with psychotic disorders effectively.

OBJECTIVES: 

  • Develop a foundational understanding of psychosis and psychotic disorders and their prevalent societal misconceptions.
  • Examine the causation and contributing factors for individuals who experience psychotic disorders.
  • Identify symptoms of psychotic disorders and their impact on daily life.
  • Recognize options used to support individuals with treatment and recovery for psychotic disorders.
  • Consider effective strategies to support individuals who live with psychotic disorders.

COURSE FORMAT: This course is a recorded, asynchronous, self-paced, online interactive training, with no access time limit or due date to complete it once enrolled.  In addition to the record presentation, additional resources and handouts are made available inside the course.
