PSYCHOLOGICAL FUNCTION AND MANAGEMENT OF PAIN
Exploring the dynamics of pain is often complex. If we examine the psychological role and management techniques, clinicians can be better equipped to help their clients who live with pain. The focus of this training is on pain education and how to support those who live with pain in navigating pain and mental wellness, as the two are greatly connected.

OBJECTIVES:
- Discover why we have pain and determine its function without our bodies
- Classify pain mechanisms into evolutionary, historical, neurobiological, or biopsychosocial categories
- Identify the term "pain" and the neurobiological mechanisms underlying pain
- Compare the neurobiological mechanisms of chronic pain
- Deconstruct biological and psychosocial contributors to pain
- Compose evidence-based psychological or sociological intervention plans for clinical pain cases with specified evaluation criteria
COURSE FORMAT: This course is a recorded, asynchronous, self-paced, online interactive training, with no access time limit or due date to complete it once enrolled. In addition to the record presentation, additional resources and handouts are made available inside the course.
