FIRST AID AND CONSCIOUS CHOKING
A critical aspect of resident care is understanding how to manage and effectively care for sudden illnesses. This course will discuss the various sudden illnesses that can occur in your facility. It will also present best practices applicable to assisted living and resident care settings, as well as a first-aid refresher.

AUDIENCE: Assisted Living Staff, House Managers, Administrators
OBJECTIVES:
- Identify the roles and responsibilities caregivers have in responding to emergencies
- Determine what care to provide during cardiac emergencies
- Determine what care to provide during sudden illness emergencies
- Determine what care to provide during temperature-related emergencies
- Determine what care to provide for soft tissue, muscle, bone, and joint emergencies
COURSE FORMAT: This course is a recorded, asynchronous, self-paced, online interactive training, with no access time limit or due date to complete it once enrolled. In addition to the record presentation, additional resources and handouts are made available inside the course.
