CULTURAL COMPETENCE AND DIVERSITY AWARENESS
Cultural competence is about the willingness to learn about and value diversity. It relates to being open-minded about other cultures. In this course, you will learn about the importance of culturally based care, the role of cultural competency and cultural attunement, how to enhance your ability to work with clients, and how to practice culturally responsive strategies.

- Define culturally-based care and ensure it is tailored to meet the needs of clients
- Discern your role and the importance of culturally-based care
- Examine strategies to enhance your cultural competency and ability to work effectively with clients
COURSE FORMAT: This course is a recorded, asynchronous, self-paced, online, interactive training with no access time limit or due date, once enrolled. In addition to the recorded presentation, additional resources and handouts are available within the course.
