STANDARD PRECAUTIONS & BLOODBORNE PATHOGENS
This course will discuss the prevention of transmission of infectious agents. Best practices applicable to assisted living and resident care settings will be presented. This continuing education course will also cover a detailed presentation on bloodborne pathogens and workplace practice controls.

AUDIENCE: Assisted Living Staff, House Managers, Administrators
OBJECTIVES:
- Define standard precautions and their value in assisted living facilities
- Consider infectious diseases and the elements associated with them
- Identify prevention and control strategies to use in relation to communicable diseases
- Distinguish the responsibilities staff and facilities have regarding standard precautions
COURSE FORMAT: This course is a recorded, asynchronous, self-paced, online interactive training, with no access time limit or due date to complete it once enrolled. In addition to the record presentation, additional resources and handouts are made available inside the course.
